sleep这个单词我们都知道是睡觉的意思，那“起得晚”和“睡得晚”英语都如何表达呢，今天就跟阡陌姐姐一起学习和睡觉相关的英文小知识吧！~

“起得晚”相关表达
sleep late 睡着的状态超出预期的时间（即睡过头、起得晚）

例句：

I studied very hard for my math exam last week, so I slept late.

上周我为了数学测验而努力学习了，所以睡过头了。

I slept late on Saturday.

我在星期六睡到很晚。

“睡得晚”
既然sleep late不是睡得晚，那“睡得晚”英文怎么表达？

I went to bed late last night.

昨天我很晚才睡。

如果是"很早就上床了，但是很晚才睡着"

I got to bed early last night, but I couldn't get to sleep till 2 AM.

我昨天很早就上床睡觉了，但是凌晨2点才睡着。

get to bed early：很早就上床get to sleep late：很晚才睡着（get to sleep=进入睡着的状态）咱们继续看看跟睡觉的相关表达~赖床
美式英语中通常将“赖床”翻译为“sleep in”；而在英式英语里则将其翻译为“lie in”，意思是比平时起得晚。
sleep in英文解释：to sleep until later in the morning than you usually do

例句：

I usually sleep in on Saturdays.我通常星期六都要睡到很晚才起床。

lie in英文解释：a long stay in bed in the morning

例句：

It was a Sunday, so he could lie in till almost lunch time.那是个星期天，所以他可以睡懒觉睡到快要吃午饭的时候。

熬夜
“熬夜”的表达方式有很多种，最常用的就是“stay up late”，当然也有“night owl（夜猫子）”, “burn the midnight oil”和“pull an all-nighter”这种形象的表达。

例句：

1、Don't stay up late. It's bad for your health.

别熬夜太晚，这对你的身体有害。

2、The late-night parties make the hotel a haven for night owls and a hell for anyone with children.

那些深夜派对把酒店变成了夜猫子的乐园，对于带着孩子的人们则成了地狱。

3、If you often burn the midnight oil, you'll burn yourself out.

如果你经常熬夜，会把身体搞垮的。

4、College students often pull an all-nighter at the end of a semester.

一到学期末，学生们就经常通宵学习。

早睡早起
熟知的“早睡早起”的表达方式有“keep early hours”和“go to bed early and get up early”。
还有一个很形象的表达“early bird”，与中文“早起的鸟儿有虫吃”相呼应，这个表达相当形象。

例句：

1、The early bird catches the worm.

早起的鸟儿有虫吃。

2、To keep early hours is good for health.

早睡早起有益健康。

3、It is a good habit to go to bed early and get up early.

早睡早起是一种好习惯。

失眠
明明很想睡，但躺着就是睡不着。在英语中，“失眠”也有很多表达方式，像“insomnia”、“sleepless”、“toss and turn”和“don't/doesn't/didn't sleep a wink”等。

例句：

1、Worries and tenseness can lead to insomnia.

忧虑和紧张会导致失眠。

2、Joseph spent a sleepless night wondering what to do.

约瑟夫一夜未眠，在想该怎么办。

3、I toss and turn all night.

我一宿辗转难眠。

4、He didn't sleep a wink all night

他一夜没合眼。

睡懒觉
stay in bed躺在床上、卧床，在一定的语境下可以理解为睡懒觉。

例句：

I'm going to stay in bed for a while.

我想在床上多躺一会儿，睡个懒觉。

have a lazy morninglazy 是“懒的”意思，所以这个词组也是睡懒觉的意思。

例句：

He will not have lazy mornings these days due to the work.

因为工作的原因，他这段时间都不能睡懒觉了。

偷懒假
have a duvet day /'d(j)u: veɪ/duvet 本身意思是“羽绒被”，而 duvet day 则是指“偷懒假”。欧美国家有些公司会给员工带薪休息的机会。

例句：

I'm going to have a duvet day tomorrow.

明天我要睡个懒觉。

一直睡
Sleep all day 睡一整天

例句：

I did nothing on Sunday but sleep all day long. 我星期天什么都没做只是睡了一整天。

自然醒
Wake up naturally 自然醒

例句：

I would love to sleep until I wake up naturally. 我喜欢睡到自然醒。
